About the School
A warm welcome to Vyners School website. Whether you are a parent, prospective parent, neighbour or an interested candidate for a post at Vyners - we hope that it will provide a brief insight into our school and some of the outstanding work undertaken by both our pupils and staff.
Vyners is an extremely popular and successful school with an excellent reputation for academic achievement and extra-curricular activities. In our recent Kirkland Rowell survey "community spirit" came out as an outstanding feature. We are a genuinely comprehensive school, believing that all pupils bring their own talents to our community. We value our pupils equally and take great care to make sure that every pupil is happy, secure and successful.
We hold Mathematics and Computing Specialist status, which has allowed us to provide superb computer facilities to benefit our pupils' learning. Our recent Ofsted identified and celebrated the many strengths of Vyners School. Standards are high and achievement in the sixth form is good.
The inspectors recognised that we are implementing many new initiatives to raise achievement at Vyners. Their judgement is that "the school shows good capacity to improve".
As is always the case in any inspection, there are areas for development. The Ofsted report confirms our self evaluation and our plans for future development.
