Parks

ROSA PARKS

Parks is named after Rosa Parks from Alabama, USA. She was a civil rights activist who challenged racial inequality and discrimination by refusing to give up her seat on a bus in 1955. She helped change the course of history and was influential in promoting equal opportunities for people of colour.

When Vyners School expanded again in 2019 to include eight forms of entry, the students voted to select two new Houses to represent the Vyners ethos. The names chosen were Parks, after social justice activist Rosa Parks and Jaggar, after former Headteacher Trevor Jaggar.
